Roadmap for a Danish hydrogen infrastructure for the future

Since late 2022, the CIP Foundation has been working on a master plan and rollout plan for a coherent hydrogen and Power-to-X infrastructure in Denmark. On 30 May 2023, the Foundation presented the report “Roadmap for a Danish Hydrogen Infrastructure for the Future”, a long-term and integrated expansion plan running until 2045. The expansion plan supports climate targets and Danish exports, strengthens Denmark’s green leadership position, and contributes to Europe’s supply security and energy independence.

Based on technical analyses and mapping of international developments and regulation, a detailed expansion plan has been prepared that sets out the concrete implementation of a hydrogen infrastructure in the Danish energy system. The expansion plan promotes decarbonisation of Northern Europe, cost efficiency, and balancing of the energy system.
