The CIP Foundation is founded by the seniors partners of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The founders have guaranteed the financial security of the foundation for a period of six years, so that the projects initiated in the CIP Foundation can be implemented.

At the CIP Foundation, we are independent of political and commercial interests.

Board in the CIP Foundation

CIP Foundation is led by a board of directors, the majority of which consists of independent recognized individuals. The board currently consists of Torben Möger Pedersen (chairman), Anders Eldrup, Anne Arhnung, Eva Berneke as well as Christina Grumstrup Sørensen and Jakob Baruël from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

The Board decides which projects the foundation initiates and how they will be financed. At the same time, it is the board's responsibility to ensure that the CIP Foundation's independence from political and commercial interests is maintained in all respects.

CIP Foundation's Youth Advisory Board

CIP Foundation has established a permanent Youth Advisory Board to advise the board on, among other things, which projects CIP Foundation should work on. The Youth Advisory Board must also ensure that there is a clear next-generation perspective in all of the CIP Foundation's activities.

As chairman of Metal Youth, Carl Emil has led the Apprentice Rebellion, which will, among other things, ensure more and better educated apprentices for the green transition. He also has political experience from DSU and the Youth Climate Council.

Fredrik has been a co-organizer of the CBS Case Club, which works to create case-based training opportunities for ambitious students at CBS. He has also served as a mentor for some of the students who have enrolled in the CBS Case Academy.

Marie-Louise Karlsen works for Nalik Ventures, which provides funding, advisory services, and product development support to entrepreneurs and businesses that contribute to growth, employment, and local ownership in Greenland.

Lasse Søndergaard Kirkvald

MSc Finance and Accounting, CBS

Lasse is employed at CIP and works on transactions across Europe. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting from CBS and is a co-founder of the organization ‘CBS Renewables’, which bridges the gap between students and companies with renewable energy as part of their core business.

Casper Øhlers

Active member of Gaia and parliamentary candidate for the Conservative People’s Party

Bachelor of Science in International Business and Politics hos CBS

Casper works with youth engagement in Gaia – Youth for a Green Business and has previously been associated with the CIP Foundation. Casper has particular insight into China’s role in the global green transition and in the green value chains between Asia and Europe. His experience also includes smart grids and green energy infrastructure.

Emilie is educated at CBS and works in the Offshore Service Sales team at Vestas, where she develops customized service packages for offshore wind projects.

Oliver Whimster Martinsen

Oliver founded Climaider, a tool that allows individuals to calculate their own CO₂ emissions and purchase offsets to compensate for them.

Celina Justiva

Special consultant, Danish Climate Data Agency and Master of Laws from Aarhus University

Celina is a Special Consultant at the Danish Climate Data Agency, where she works with legal support and compliance in the development of digital solutions for the green transition. She has previously worked as an environmental and planning law specialist in the legal sector, focusing on green energy, infrastructure, and property development.

Christian ​ Orthmann

Educated farmer and Chairman of Rural Youth

Christian is the Chair of LandboUngdom and Operations Manager at Øko-One. As Chair, he leads a nationwide association network with over 6,000 members, working to strengthen young people’s engagement in agriculture and to develop strong communities both locally and nationally.

Julie Zacho

Student assistant in biosolutions, Master of Science (Di) and master’s student, MSc Global Development

Julie works in DI Biosolutions with European interest representation and as part of the secretariat of the European Biosolutions Coalition. Julie is also active in Gaia, which works for youth involvement in the green transition through collaboration with the business community.

Filippo Guatri

Graduate Engineer, COWI and MSc in sustainable Energy

Filippo is a Sustainable Energy Technologist with a focus on energy system analysis. He works to support customers and decision-makers in planning and optimizing energy systems from both technical, economic and environmental perspectives.

Benjamin Bøgen Pedersen​

Strategy Consultant, Topsoe Power-to-X, Board Member in SAGA, Member of the Danish Youth Climate Council and Bachelor in International Business from CBS

Benjamin works at Topsoe in the Power-to-X department, where he deals with strategic analyses of market dynamics and political regulation. In addition, he is a member of the Youth Climate Council under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, where he has contributed to recommendations for a more ambitious energy expansion and collaborated closely with Energinet. Benjamin also has experience from civil society and academia, including as a board member of the youth organization SAGA and as a representative on CBS’ Sustainability Advisory Board.

The Foundation office is responsible for steering the foundation's projects forward. Leading partner, Charlotte B Jepsen, forms the daily management of CIP Foundation.

Charlotte Boline Jepsen

Charlotte has management experience from both management boards and boards of directors, most recently as CEO of FSR – Danish Auditors.

Charlotte has worked with major societal agendas at the intersection of politics and commerce, focusing on relationship building, dialogue and results. She also has experience from the political system from Christiansborg and Slotsholmen.

Charlotte has worked broadly on the sustainability agenda with a focus on climate and NetZero, regulation, reporting and verification of ESG data.

Nikolaj Ludvigsen

Nikolaj has a background as a senior consultant at the Ministry of the Interior and Housing, where he worked with the Planning Act and the planning of onshore renewable energy projects.

He has deep insight into the agricultural sector, having previously worked at the Ministry of Food, the Danish Agricultural Agency, and at the Danish Agriculture & Food Council.

Helle Osmer Clausen

Helle has extensive experience in analysis and in the development of concepts and policies from her work in central government, where she held executive responsibility for areas such as macroeconomics, digitalization, and the green transition, as well as for a number of public-private partnerships, including the Climate Partnerships.

With a macroeconomic approach, Helle focuses on structural changes and on how framework conditions and the use of new technology support societal development, including the climate agenda.

Solutions are found through broad collaboration across stakeholders, and at CIP Foundation, Helle works with, among other things, CO2 storage in agriculture and the energy sources of the future. She can be reached at

Monica Skadborg

Monica is an environmental engineer with a focus on climate, systems thinking, and intergenerational justice. She is a driving force behind the CIP Foundation’s projects on new renewable energy and is responsible for the Youth Advisory Board. In addition, she is involved in the climate adaptation project.

Monica has worked at the intersection of sustainability and business at organizations such as BCG and Cornell. She has experience engaging diverse stakeholders in the climate agenda, including leading the UNFCCC’s youth engagement mechanism, and has served as Chair of the Youth Climate Council under the Danish Ministry of Climate. Peter Bjerregaard

Peter has a background as Head of Market Regulation at Better Energy, where he worked with EU regulation and the planning of onshore renewable energy projects.

He has strong knowledge of the energy sector, having previously been a member of the government’s national energy crisis task force and worked for E.ON.

Mathias Bertelsen

Mathias is studying International Business & Politics at Copenhagen Business School.

At the CIP Foundation, Mathias works as Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Board, Torben Möger Pedersen, where he is responsible for coordinating all of Torben’s board positions. In addition, Mathias supports the CIP Foundation’s various projects through analysis, data support, and report writing — including practical responsibility for the CIP Foundation’s Youth Advisory Board.

Luna Stausholm Zacho

Luna is studying Economics at the University of Copenhagen.

At the CIP Foundation, Luna supports the development of the next major societal projects within climate and sustainable development. Søren Vikkelsø

Søren has extensive experience with socioeconomic analyses in the infrastructure sector from his work at COWI and Sund & Bælt, and has previously worked at the Ministry of Finance.

He has, among other roles, served as Head of COWI’s socio-economic analysis business and as Market Director at Sund & Bælt, giving him strategic experience at the intersection of policy and commercial business.
